Life is but a Weaving

Were you ever in a situation where everything is seemingly meeting with failure? The very existence of life is questioned. Desperate to see success you are clutching at straws. Your days are swiftly passing as a weaver’s shuttle. You are unable to understand the reason behind the events in your life. This may be happening to you or someone you love dearly. There is suffering and helping them is beyond you. It is breaking your heart.

The Psalmist wrote as he turned to God for his answers. Psalm 73:26 “My flesh and my heart fail; but God is the strength of my heart, and my part forever.” The tapestry of your life is woven so intricately that the present does not yield the full view. The designer is God. He is the one bringing you into your situation. It might seem grievous now, but it is ultimately for the glory of His name. The answer to your desperate cry will be fully known when at last you stand before Him in glory. But here, now, keep thanking Him for His presence, His love and His grace. Every tear rolling down your cheek is accounted for in His presence. Your body, your mind and your heart may fail, but take heart, God is your strength. He is your rock, your salvation, your defense, your expectation, your glory, and your refuge.

“My life is but a weaving Between my God and me. I cannot choose the colors He weaveth steadily.

Oft’ times He weaveth sorrow; And I in foolish pride Forget He sees the upper And I the underside.

Not ’til the loom is silent And the shuttles cease to fly Will God unroll the canvas And reveal the reason why.

The dark threads are as needful In the weaver’s skillful hand As the threads of gold and silver In the pattern He has planned

He knows, He loves, He cares; Nothing this truth can dim. He gives the very best to those Who leave the choice to Him.”
